The TSSM started the Padmabhooshan Vasantdada Patil Institute of Technology in the academic year 2006-07. The College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, recognized by Government of Maharashtra Director of Technical Education(DTE) and affiliated to University of Pune.
PVPIT(Padmabhooshan Vasantdada Patil Institute of Technology) is located in the most inaccessible and farthest corner of Pune.
So get ready to know 13 things about PVPIT that you won’t find on college brochures –
This is to bring a kind note to all my readers that the points expressed below are gathered from multiple sources (ex-students, current students) from within the respective institute and are not made up. None of the points given below are intended towards hurting anyone’s sentiments whatsoever.
1.PVPIT? Ye konsa College hai?
Call it the curse of PVPIT. Majority of people don't know about the existence of college while a few recognize it by "Jungle wala college". The college is obsessed with its TSSM as well as JSPM brand.
As the college is far from the city and into the nature's lap, the environment is soothing and pleasant. *Feels like visiting a Tekdi* exclaims Marlene(student BE computer)
Some of the faculty members in the college have some serious issue with phrasing sentences in English during lectures.
2.Great Indian Laughter Challenge with Teachers.
You’ll find all kinds of teachers here. The good, bad and the “I don’t care” types.
Some of the faculty members in the college have some serious issue with phrasing sentences in English during lectures.
This some times turns
into an entertainment for students! Few of the teachers do manage to
speak good English. But there are many who could make Wren and Martin
cry.
3.Canteen sucks
Canteen in PVPIT is just a namesake structure. The canteen menu has a pretty limited amount of choices.Quality of food is average. Well the canteen management changes more often than a girl changes her mind!! That's ridiculous.. Majority of students visit canteen just to eat their tiffins.
4.Watchers on the gate
It is very easy to enter the college but the real task lies in leaving the college! The watchmen make the lives of students miserable as one cannot leave the college without a gate pass during the college hours. Even teachers cannot leave without a gate-pass. Sometimes visitors are also not allowed to leave without a gate-pass.
I am sure oath of a watchman recruited to PVPIT would be something like this:
"College starts, and now my watch begins.
I shall live and die at my post. I am the barricade for the college bunkers.
I am the shield that stops a person without gate-pass.
I am the watcher on the gates."
5.Small Size
The campus area is small as compared to other sister colleges. Such is the condition that if you bunk the lectures, there is 90% chance that you might bump into your Professors or the Principal himself. *SIGHS*
Though small in size, the computer department of the college boasts of producing University Toppers. *Chota packet bada Dhamaka*
Out of all the problems that you’ll face during your stay in PVPIT, the toughest of them all is the submissions.Every department has its own way of torturing the students. File checking is carried out few days prior to exam. Even for getting a signature on the file students need to submit various forms - no dues form, gfm certificate, etc, etc. Gives you the feel of government office.
7.Curious case of Internet and WiFi
Being an engineering college, it’s mandatory for an institution to have high speed internet especially when you’re paying so much amounts as fees to this college. You can see students of Mechanical and E&TC department crowding the entire computer department building for the internet during the breaks.
CyberRoam!!! arrgghh |
8.Battle of Parking
No, it is not related to History but is very much related to the fights between watchmen AKA watchers on the gate and the students for the parking. Students(boys especially) are forced to park their vehicles on the small hilltop instead of the legitimate parking space, which has led to many disputes between watchmen and students.*right in the feels* |
9.Transportation
There are no proper transportation facilities available. An average student without a vehicle has to walk approx 2-3kms to reach the college, well at-least keeps you fit.College provides bus facility but that comes at very hefty price.
Walking to PVPIT feels |
10.Attendance, Uniform and Discipline.
FE students, if you bunk even one lecture. They call your home, and when you reach home your parents would be like –
“Ek lakh fees bharke daala hai tujhe college me. Bunk maarne ke liye??
11.Plenty of Term Work
There is no discrimination while distribution of term work as compared to other colleges. Professors are available 24x7 and are very friendly with the students. They make sure every one gets a fair chance of scoring good marks in the exams. Overall, the teaching quality is better than most of the colleges in Pune.12.Acclivity and Indradhanushya
Students put in a lot of dedication. These fests brings pure enjoyment and some really fun memories in all your engineering life.13.Tedha hai par Mera Hai
No matter how the college and the management is, every student has learned something valuable from this college.
Stelly (student of BE computer Department) states
-
"It is the place where I started to evolve!
Understood as an individual that this place would build my future platform."
Another student (passed out) stated -
"Best place, where I met best people who supported me through my highs and lows.
Tons of memories, fun, knowledge and of-course a place where you become ENGINEER"!
"You can take a student out of PVPIT, but you cannot take out PVPIT out of him/her"
